How our quotes and cleans work
Last updated: 21 October 2026
The short version
- Calculator prices are for regular cleans. First cleans and one-off cleans are priced individually.
- We confirm your price before we start, and it never changes without your agreement.
- We remove organic dirt only, and we don't do any ladder work.
- We point out existing damage, and we leave fragile or unsafe areas alone.
- Not happy? Tell us within 48 hours and we'll come back and re-clean for free.
Who we are
Drayton Exterior Cleaning (DEC) is a trading name of Prime Event & Media Solutions Ltd, registered in England & Wales, company number 16904317. These terms apply to every quote we give and every clean we carry out.
Your quote
Prices from our online calculator are a guide to our regular cleaning rate. Quotes we give by email, text or phone are often based on Google Maps, photos or your description of the property.
Because of that, we'll take a quick look when we arrive and confirm the price before we start. If anything is different from what we were told (for example extra windows or an extension), we'll tell you the new price first. We never charge more than you agreed without asking you.
Unless your quote says otherwise, a window clean covers the outside of all reachable windows and doors, including the frames and sills. Conservatories, skylights and inside cleaning are only included if they're on your quote.
First cleans and one-off cleans
The first clean of a new regular customer, and any one-off clean, is priced individually rather than at the calculator rate.
That's because a first clean usually takes much longer. Frames, sills and glass that haven't been cleaned for a while carry built-up dirt, moss, algae and cobwebs that need extra work to shift. Once windows are on a regular round, they stay easier to keep clean, which is why later cleans cost less.
We'll always tell you the first or one-off price before booking, so there are no surprises.
What our cleaning removes
Our cleaning removes organic matter only: everyday dirt, dust, pollen, algae, moss, cobwebs, bird droppings and similar.
It won't remove non-organic marks or staining, such as paint, cement or mortar splashes, sealant or silicone, stickers and adhesive, limescale or hard-water staining, rust, or etching and scratches in the glass. If we spot marks like these, we'll let you know.
No ladder work
We clean from the ground using a water-fed pole and don't do any ladder work. Any window or area we can't reach safely from the ground isn't included in your clean, and we'll tell you about it when we confirm your price.
Existing damage and areas we won't clean
Where we notice existing damage, we'll point it out before we start, and we may take a photo for both our records. Cleaning can't fix, and sometimes makes more visible, faults that were already there, such as:
- misted or "blown" double glazing (failed seals)
- scratches, chips or cracks in glass
- loose or perished seals, putty or beading
- rotten, flaking or damaged frames and sills
We're not responsible for damage or faults that were there before our visit.
To protect your property, we may leave alone anything that looks fragile or unsafe to clean, for example very old or brittle conservatory roofs, cracked or loose glass, or areas we can't reach safely. If we do, we'll tell you and won't charge for it.
We're fully insured. If we do cause any damage through our own fault, tell us straight away and we'll put it right.
Our 48-hour re-clean promise
If you're not happy with any part of your clean, let us know within 48 hours and we'll come back and re-clean the area for free. A photo of what you're not happy with helps us sort it quickly.
